Statement on an employment tribunal judgment

The employment tribunal has today given judgment in a claim brought against the firm by a former associate, who left the firm in 2024.

The tribunal found that the claimant was unfairly dismissed, because the firm did not follow its own procedure before dismissing her, and awarded her compensation. It dismissed her other claims, including her claim that she was dismissed because she had made protected disclosures about the firm’s narrative risk work.

We accept the tribunal’s finding on procedure. We are sorry that we did not follow our own process, and we have changed how we apply it.

The tribunal’s judgment records that the narrative risk files the claimant raised concerns about were compiled from published material, in accordance with the firm’s rules for them. We will not comment further.
