Matthew Kerrigan
A former broadcast news producer who leads the firm’s crisis response team in London and writes most of its exercises.
Matthew Kerrigan leads the firm’s crisis response team in London. When a client calls the 24-hour line with something that cannot wait, he is usually the partner who assembles the team, opens the matter and writes the first draft of the first statement.
He was a broadcast news producer for fourteen years, latterly on a nightly current affairs programme, which taught him what an interview request at five in the afternoon actually means. He joined Halden Rook in 2010 and became a partner in 2013.
He also leads the firm’s crisis readiness work and writes most of its exercises. Clients who have sat through one describe them as uncomfortable, which he takes as a compliment. A typical exercise runs for four hours, begins with a telephone call at an inconvenient moment and ends with the board reading back everything it has said.
He is a fellow of a professional body for business continuity and coaches an under-twelves football team in south London with mixed results.
